So, like, I thought that Global Warming was due to the release of carbon into the atmosphere? So, like, how do you explain this?
You know, I'll surrender that global warming has been occurring for about 10 to 12,000 years. Science, Archaeology and Anthropology teach us this. After all, where once glaciers covered the northern hemisphere including most of Europe, all of Canada and a great deal of the continental United States, today we have...Iowa! Corn fields!
Even the great Glacier National Park will soon have to be renamed...what?...Corn Field Park? Na'ah...corn doesn't grow at high altitudes very well.
Glaciers once dominated. They melted off enough that Glacier National Park was such a unique thing that the land was bought and set aside in the early 20th Century. Today it is just like the barren land that once surrounded this strip of pristine...ice! Which is now just real estate like all of that surrounding it.
So there...I surrendered that global warming is happening. Are you happy, Al Gore???
Now you have to surrender to me that...we don't really have all that much to do with it! I'm not one for quoting contemporary folks, because I don't find many intelligent enough to bother with. But Dennis Miller had something amazingly similar to my own thoughts to say recently.
We couldn't change the Earth's atmosphere if we tried. We are just gnats. I mean, it took Krakatoa to lower the earth's temperature 5 degrees? And we think that nuclear fallout would do anything?
Now, that's just my theorizing based on unscientific observations. Just a hunch, and I wouldn't want to base the planet's future on my hunch! But let's get real, OK? Everyone put down the kool aid for a moment, red and blue alike, and just relax a bit, OK? Exxon Mobil isn't driving global warming in some vast conspiracy, and Al Gore really ain't all that, K? Global warming is occurring, and this conservative evangelical is admitting that due to what he read in a science book...albeit a long time ago.
But it's the sun, stupid!
